CIT event 2.pngThe Life Rooms' Community Inclusion Team (CIT) have been promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles amongst unpaid carers, particularly within the Chinese community, at a community health awareness event in St Bride's Church in Liverpool.

The event brought together community members, volunteers, and health organisations to help improve people's knowledge of managing their health and wellbeing, and providing access to support services like Mary Seacole House, Healthwatch, Women's Health Information and Support Centre (WHISC), and Smokefree Liverpool.

Volunteers at the event made visitors feel welcome and relaxed, offering hand massages and henna art, while The Life Rooms Learning Team delivered a fun chair-based exercise session. These exercise sessions encourage gentle movement to support mobility, strength, and overall wellbeing, with the aim of keeping people active and well for longer.

CIT event 5.pngOur Community Inclusion Team shared helpful information about unpaid carer's rights to access support within the NHS, helping carers understand what resources, entitlements, and pathways are available to them. The multi-lingual team support underrepresented communities in Liverpool to access health services and offer opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing. This event was a great opportunity to support Chinese speaking communities in particular, and was a great success in raising awareness of the support available to unpaid carers within the NHS and in the community, promoting healthy lifestyles, strengthening access to services and fostering a sense of community connection.
