The Life Rooms’ Community Inclusion Team (CIT) have been working within the community to support people to stay well during winter, with advice on staying warm, healthy and safe, and connecting people to local support services. CIT event 2.png

Working alongside The Lauda Project, CIT hosted an event in St Dunstan’s Parish Church, central to our communities in Wavertree, Edge Hill and Toxteth. Visitors were gifted a winter essentials pack from The Life Rooms, which included a hot water bottle and a beanie hat to help them stay warm.

Helpful booklets, with information in both English and Arabic, were handed to visitors with advice on eating well and staying hydrated, looking after their health through vaccinations and planning ahead for prescriptions, how to stay warm at home, and tips for managing mental wellbeing through socialisation and getting outside. Visitors were also able to have a blood pressure check with advice being shared as needed.

Our multi-lingual Community Inclusion Team support underrepresented communities in Liverpool to access health services and offer opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing. CIT work closely with diverse groups including those seeking asylum, refugees, and members of the BAME, GRT and D/deaf communities. This event was a great opportunity to support Arabic and Romanian speaking communities in particular, sharing information on where and how to access health and support services.
