The Life Rooms are marking World Mental Health Day (WMHD) by working with local services and organisations to deliver a health and wellbeing event in Huyton Village Centre in the week leading up to the event on Monday 10 October.

Free activities and taster sessions to support wellbeing and healthy living are on offer from the team and partners, as well as support around social issues such as debt, housing, employment and reducing isolation. The event takes place from 3-7 October and again on 10 October to celebrate WMHD.

Michael Crilly, Mersey Care’s Director of Social Inclusion and Participation, said: ‘We’re proud to be supporting and working with our partners in Knowsley to deliver this fantastic event in the community.

“Visitors will get a taste of the support we offer at The Life Rooms, as well as practical support from helpful organisations who are seeking to support our communities’ wellbeing, which will be particularly helpful during the cost of living crisis.”

The event will bring together local groups and businesses such as Knowsley Face Forward, Homestart Knowsley, Activate Mind and Body, For Housing, Volair and Citizens Advice Bureau to provide support and advice to the community around a range of health-related issues including mental health, housing, learning, and keeping active as well as therapeutic sessions in music and hypnotherapy.

Sessions will take place between 10am and 2pm each day under the cover of a stretch-tent marquee, known as ‘The Sail Project’, ensuring they will be able to be enjoyed whatever the weather.

Local organisations attending the event together will highlight how social issues and factors can also have an impact on health and wellbeing and demonstrate the support available to the community.

The Life Rooms, run by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, are also delivering drop-in sessions in all Knowsley Libraries. Please contact liferoomsknowsley@merseycare.nhs.uk for more information
