Employment services at The Life Rooms have expanded, with NHS Talking Therapies Employment Support Service joining our Social Model of Health on Monday 1 September. The Life Rooms are now one of the largest providers of supported employment services in the NHS, allowing us to support more service users to find or remain in work, supporting in their recovery.
The Employment Support Service will continue to support and take referrals from NHS Talking Therapies across Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool and St Helens, supporting their service users to find and remain in work through engagement with local employers.
The Life Rooms also deliver Individual Placement Support (IPS) employment services in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Warrington, working collaboratively with community mental health teams, service users, and local employers, as well as taking self-referrals.

The trust has long since recognised that the health outcomes of our service users are directly linked to their social and economic needs. We need to see the the whole life situation of the person in front of us and supporting people to find and retain employment is one of the most powerful ways we can address inequalities and improve health."
Meaningful employment can support individuals with their health, wellbeing, and recovery, and this expansion of employment services gives The Life Rooms greater focus on supporting people to address the social determinants of health, and return to or remain in meaningful employment.
